Order of Christian Initiation for Adults:
OCIA (formerly RCIA)
"God is faithful, and by him you were called to fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
1 Corinthians 1:9
Are you considering becoming Catholic? There is a home for you in the Church. We would be honored to walk with you as you explore the faith, and we are committed to helping answer any questions you may have with complete honesty and transparency.
When you are ready, give us a call or e-mail us to schedule a time for a casual conversation with the pastor. You can trust that he will take the time to truly hear you and listen to your circumstances, history, hopes, and hesitations - all while helping you peacefully discern the path ahead.
You are deeply loved!
OCIA ("Order of Christian Initiation for Adults") classes are on Wednesdays at 7pm in Columbus Hall, beginning September 6th. If you have questions or would like to register for the class, please call the parish office at (574) 255-2247.
O.C.I.A.
MISSION
Walk with individuals interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, providing opportunities for catechetical and spiritual formation to those who are already Catholic or interested in becoming Catholic. O.C.I.A. also provides a path of sacramental preparation for those seeking initiation or full communion with the Catholic Church.
LIVING OUT THE MISSION
O.C.I.A. includes weekly talks/discussion on the fundamentals of the faith, two days of reflection, and a retreat entering into Holy Week. Each experience is designed to help form both the hearts and minds of attendees, focusing on both knowledge and lived experience of the faith.
WHEN WE MEET
O.C.I.A. meets on Wednesday evenings from 7pm from mid-September through the Easter Vigil. After, the group gathers four additional times to help walk with those who are newly received Catholics.
